Both candidates have now cast their ballots and for both the moment must be overwhelming.
For Obama who lost his grandmother just yesterday the moment must have been bittersweet. The woman who was so pivotal in raising him to become the person he is today, will not be able to see the results of the biggest day of his life.
McCain also must be feeling emotions of the day. After serving this country for his whole adult life in the Navy and as a senator the chance to become the president of the country must feel like the fulfillment of a goal many years in the making.
Either way, whoever gets elected regardless of a persons party affiliation they can not say the candidates did not earn it.
