‘Simpsons’ Take a Shot at Voting Process

On Sunday night, “The Simpsons” started their twentieth season with its annual “Tree House of Horror” episode. The opening scene featured Homer visiting the polls so he can cast his vote, but he has a problem with the electronic voting machine.

When Homer tries to vote for Barack Obama, the machine tells him he has voted for John McCain. Homer tries to fix the problem, but instead the machine tells him that he has voted for McCain several more times. Homer gets angry at the machine, so he calls it “rigged” and hits it. The machine then eats Homer as he yells that this can’t happen in America, “maybe in Ohio, but not America.”

The Simpsons, always equipped with politically satire, garnered some of its biggest ratings and led the other networks in the 18-49 demographic for the night. Click on the link below to watch the video!
